Procedures for Filing Meeting Notices
EFFECTIVE SEPETEMBER 1, 2025
HB 1522 amends Government Code §551.043(a). The open meeting notice is now required to be posted in a place readily accessible to the general public at all times for at least three business days before the scheduled date of the meeting rather than 72 hours before the scheduled time.
Request for Posting
Meeting notices may be submitted by mail, fax, or email and must be received in this office by 5:00 p.m. for same day filing. The fax number and email address are listed below. Notices received on holidays will be posted the next business day. List of County Holidays
Payment methods accepted are LegalEase, check, or existing escrow accounts.
Meeting Notices Must Include the Following
- the name of the entity
- date, time, and place of meeting
- your contact information with name and telephone number
Amendments or Duplicate Notices
- Call our office and notify us. If we receive an amendment to a notice that is already posted, a new posting fee will be charged.
Acknowledgment of Receipt
- Upon request, notices that are received by email or fax will be acknowledged as soon as the notice is posted to our website.
- Copies requested to be sent by email are $2.00. You may print your own copy off the website after it is posted at no charge.
